Today is Australia Day and all of Australia celebrate it differently and in unique ways. It is also a day for Rotary Australia to celebrate their 100 years of service in this country.
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in their own communities, and in themselves.
Their mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through their fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
To celebrate, Rotary Australia held a live ZOOM event streamed across Australia for members and their families to be involved.
Logan City Councillor Karen Murphy said it’s a special day of celebration.
“Today, Rotary Australia and New Zealand celebrated the first 100 years of service and as part of that celebration, I was delighted to join Rotary Club of Beenleigh, Rotary Club of Logan and Rotary Club of Loganholme for their online around Australia event and Australia Day lunch.
“The Rotarian members are truly inspiring people, and they support our Logan community and individuals through multiple projects,” Cr Murphy said.
