The year has been a rough one for business and it is always get to see new ventures setting up and even better when they are making the City of Logan home.

The Aussie Pet Collective is one of these new businesses that has set up shop in Slacks Creek with the aim of supporting everything Australian made for our furry friends.

The Aussie Pet Collective a consortium of Australian businesses who are committed to producing quality hand-made pet products.

They have a wide range of products, including food, pet clothing, equipment, furniture and pet care products that all must be Australian owned and all products are Australian made.

The shop is set up like a permanent market where all the stall holders are independent small businesses. With over 29 businesses already committed, there will be more and more coming on board each month.

Owner and creator of Aussie Pet Collective Desley Souter said it’s all about giving back to Australian businesses.

“It’s good stuff, it’s Aussie stuff and we try and do everything we can to sell their product.

“I love coming into work every day because I get to play with dogs and talk to people and I’m really working hard to sell for the vendors.”

Last financial year Australians spent nearly $14 billion on their pets with only 40 per cent going towards vet bills. This leaves a lot of money for pets to get toys and other items to help make them feel part of the family.

While the Aussie Pet Collective is still growing, they already have a loyalty program and a community chest. You can also buy from vendors onsite and know that the profits they are making go directly back to them.

The Aussie Pet Collective can be found at 3377 Pacific Hwy, Slacks Creek open Wednesday to Sunday. The market is pet friendly, so you can bring you fur babies in with you while you browse through the hundreds of Australian made pet products.
