At the end of Underwood Road there is a place surrounded by bush and filled with peace and tranquillity. The Fo Guang Shan Chung Tian Temple has been in Priestdale since 1992 and gives visitors some time to reflect on life in amongst the busy boundaries of Logan City.
The name Chung Tian means “Middle Heaven” and is certainly a slice of it as anyone who visits will find out. The Temple provides a peaceful and culturally beautiful venue for the community to celebrate its multicultural diversity and multi-faith harmony through Humanistic Buddhism.
There are many different areas within the grounds of the Temple to see and each has their own unique feeling and visual appeal. Although a tourist attraction, the Temple is not just about the destination but the journey taken within the walls.
Learning more about Buddhism and how it is a way of life which is based on the profound and wholesome teachings of the Buddha to all people, revealing the true face of life and the universe. The Buddha did not preach to win converts but to enlighten listeners. It is a religion of wisdom where knowledge and intelligence predominate. Buddhism has brought peace of mind, happiness, and harmony to millions of people in its long history of more than 2,500 years.
While in the peacefulness of the Temple, it is hard not to take in all of the lesions and teachings and feel more relaxed while there.
As Buddhism is practical religion devoted to conditioning the mind through a normal daily lift in such a way as to lead to peace, tranquillity, happiness, wisdom and perfect freedom, there is something about this place that brings inner peace, even if it is for a short time.
With events happening all throughout the year, you can check what is on and when on their website, Facebook page and of course at the Temple when you stop in to rest the mind.
