Euchre is a trick-taking card game commonly played in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Great Britain, and the United States. It is played with a deck of 24, 28, or 32 standard playing cards.

Normally there are four players, two on each team, although there are variations that range from two to nine players.

The Logan Euchre club started in 1989 with a group of 16 people. We started playing on Wednesday mornings in a small room at St Pauls School in Jean Street Woodridge.

It was advertised every week in the Logan News and Sunday church newsletter.  It did not take too long before the word got out and we had about 35 players in 2002.

We moved into the Parish Hall and played there until 2012. Parking became a problem for some of the older people, so we then moved to the Beenleigh Darts Club on Railway Parade Logan Central until 2018.

In 2019 we played at the Woodridge Tavern and early 2020 until we had to cease because of COVID-19.

We are also members of the C.E.C.A. which has 17 different clubs and once a month we have a tournament at one of their clubs. We travel as far south as South West Rocks in New South Wales and north to Redcliffe.

We have commenced playing again in 2021 and back at Beenleigh Darts Club at Railway Parade Logan Central on Tuesday afternoons at 1.00pm. Anyone after a fun game of cards is very welcome.

Cost is $5 and afternoon tea is supplied. Please phone Valda on 0403 609 253 with any queries.
