When an organisation is known for helping the homeless and needy on the street with free BBQ’s and clothing, they often get known for just doing that.
Touch of Hope sometimes seem to be held in that category yet the team of hard working volunteers do so much more.
While they do two street feeds in Woodridge and Bethania weekly, the team work behind the scenes every day to help those who need it most.
On a daily basis the team collect and sort clothing, toys, personal goods and food donations, create backpacks and handbags full of everyday items and put together food parcels. On top of this they have other organisations refer people that are in need of help to them.
The people who come to Touch of Hope for help could be short on food for the week, needing some personal care items or more serious situations. The team at Touch of Hope do not judge anyone on their situation and will do all they can with assistance.
The team have a wide reach in the community of Logan City and surrounds and have some tremendous donators who not only give themselves, but also hunt around for items the charity needs.
In recent times, Touch of Hope has helped a few people who have been able to get themselves off the street and into housing. The people do all they can and find housing yet cannot afford to buy a bed and other items most take for granted.
To help keep them on track, Touch of Hope help get beds, couches, dining tables, cooking utensils and so much more to help turn a house into a home. All of these items are donated to Touch of Hope and given at no cost to the people in need. No money exchanges hands.
One of the few non-denominational charities and one that doesn’t charge the needy for helping, the Touch of Hope make this world a better place one person at a time.
