Hosted by Logan’s Chamber of Commerce, Logan will have its very first Writers Festival. The Chamber invites the community, authors, and writers to this two-day event celebrating the literary arts.
“The Logan Writers Festival is bringing readers and writers together to strengthen the community, share a love of the creative word, and give local authors an opportunity to exhibit their novels,” said an event organiser.
“It is our goal to make the starving artist a myth here in Logan,”
The event will be held at the Logan Artists Association, 27 Coral Street, Loganlea, on the 10th and 11th of September. The gates will open at 9am and will be hosting over twenty stalls and twenty-two guest speakers.
Notable local authors such as Claire Fitzpatrick, Vicki Bennett and Edwina Shaw will present on all manner of topics, ranging from the story behind their stories and the craft of writing and business for aspiring writers.
“You can see first-hand the best of Logan’s local indie authors and their publications plus have the chance to talk with other readers and writers about favourite books and hopefully find new ones to delve into.”
“The Logan Writers Festival always aims to grow the creative confidence, capabilities and community appreciation for the literary professionals in Logan.
“The Chambers goal is to help give local authors the skills needed to create thriving careers.”
