Dogs were the talk of the day and while it was technically a day for Dachshunds, other beautiful puppies came to support the rescues day.

D2DR, Devoted to Dachshunds Rescue, Fundraiser Day took place at Aussie Pet Collective in Slacks Creek last month and with a coffee van, bubble tea, sausages sizzle and 101FM outside broadcasting live.

The shop was a hive of activity of both store owners and customers with many bringing their furry friends with them to choose a new treat, bowl, toy or to get a wash and trim.

Owner of Aussie Pet Collective Desley Souter said every month we hold a community chest raffle with the venders contributing an item towards a hamper.

“We sell raffle tickets all month and at the end of the month we invite the community group to come along we hand over the money raised from the ticket sales.

“For February, our group was D2DR who are an awesome rescue group who support Dachshunds and in particular the ones needed special care.

“For those who don’t know, Aussie Pet Collective is a huge shop and is a consortium of 32 small Australian businesses that make or resell items for pets.

“It’s all about pets and most of everything in the store is Australian made so we focus on items that are Aussie owned and Aussie made.

“If you have cats, dogs or birds, come on down as there are things for everybody.”

The store holds all different support days and breed days throughout each month and you can see it all on their Facebook page so you don’t miss out.
