Thursday last week was the national R U OK? Day which is a day of action to remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?”

Shailer Park State High School held a fundraising event to support charity Breaking Free who visits the school every year. They come in to educate students and encourage them to make health choices to form healthy habits and develop a healthy mindset, preventing mental illness.

On the day, students could wear a splash of yellow to show their support. During the fundraising event, a sausage sizzle was held, in which cupcakes and scrunchies from, ‘scrunch and stuff’ were also sold. During the break the music students performed various songs, to lighten the event.

The students were able to raise a total of $466.90.
