The newest markets to start in the City of Logan are the Tansey Park Community Markets in Tanah Merah.

Tansey Park located at 108 Tansey Drive is the home of the Loganholme Cricket Club and also features a boat ramp and playground.

The new community market we will have a range of stalls including, handmade arts/crafts, fashion, fresh produce, preserves, plants, food trucks, music entertainment, charitable causes, and more.

The team currently have 60 stalls with applications still coming in daily. At this stage they are waiting to see what community response will be to decide if they hold this event monthly or quarterly.

The markets will showcase local micro and small businesses and will see proceeds go to local community sports clubs with Loganholme Cricket Club being the first to receive the donation.

Event organiser Lauren Norris said the main reason I wanted to start this market was to help bring the local talent and community together.

“We have very little in the way of long standing community events close to home. I went to a trivia night at the cricket club one night and realised we had this fabulous hidden gem.

“The outside space is fantastic for community gatherings such as markets and fairs.

“The club wants to start hosting more fun future events for the public. They can promote the cricket club and raise money for the club in so many ways with awesome nights in the club house.

“So far I have been organising this market with the help of Shayne Western, Areta Farrance, Andrea Richardson, Zowie Hodgson, Pam Davis, Scott Rice, Rod Rice, Sharon Sawtell & Gina Davis.

“I want to bring awareness to this fabulous venue for not only sport but general community gatherings,” said Lauren.

The team hope to have rides, jumping castles and other amazing fun things in the future and a sheep dog demonstration when the COVID issue becomes less of a concern.

The grand opening of the market will be held on Saturday September 26 from 9am to 2pm.
