City of Logan projects that enhance Logan’s natural environments could be eligible for financial support with applications open today.

Council’s EnviroGrants program supports projects that safeguard local environments or encourage sustainable environmental practices.

Environment Chair, Deputy Mayor Jon Raven said supporting strong environmental initiatives was a priority for Council.

“Our community is passionate about Logan’s natural environment,” Cr Raven said.

“We live in a unique and ecologically diverse area and people want to be actively involved in preserving and enhancing those environmental assets for the future.

“Council’s EnviroGrants program is designed to support community-based projects and to encourage those who care about our environment or wildlife, to get their projects off the ground.

“I’m looking forward to seeing some great local projects supported this year.”

Applications can be made across five key categories:

- Environmental partnerships and capacity building

- Environmental surveys and research

- On-ground ecosystem restoration

- Environmental education

- Individual wildlife carer support
