Councillor for Division 10, Miriam Stemp, said in response to requests from the local community and with quite a few dogs living in the local area, I am excited to announce that the dog-off-leash area at Maranda Park, Shailer Park is now open.

“We hope it will be a great place where the local community can come together with their pets.

“The grass will continue to be watered and hopefully the brown patches will come back over the next few weeks.

“We also have a few parking bays going in in front of the dog-off-leash area.”

Come February, the Logan City Council will be holding the official grand opening with a coffee van and free doggie treats however the park is open for dogs of all sizes now.
