Brisbane’s iconic Buddha Birthday Festival returned to Logan today and runs until Sunday at the picturesque Chung Tian Temple located in Priestdale.
For these three days, the breathtaking serene grounds of the Chung Tian Temple is coming alive with over 130 events ranging from a wide variety of performances, children’s activities, blessings and food.
There is the traditional including Bathing the Buddha, a Blessing Ceremony for expectant mums, babies and toddlers, Chinese Lion dances and multicultural performances.
Not forgetting to relax mind and body, one could join the Light Offering Ceremony, enjoy a little Tea Chan, make an Incense offering or participate in a Mass Meditation session or one of the many Meditation and Tai Chi classes.
Visitors are welcome to attend the Multicultural Grand Offering, stroll through the Art Display, visit the Temple Museum, participate in one of many Buddhist talks and amble through a vibrant market of craft and merchandise stalls.
While at the Festival it is a must to partake in some of the delicious vegetarian food from all four corners of Asia as well as enjoy a traditional high mountain tea or fresh cup of coffee.
The Fo Guang Shan Chung Tian Buddhist Temple, Buddha’s Light International Association of Queensland (BLIAQ) and the Chung Tian Chinese School are organisers of the annual Buddha Birth Day Festival which has run in the South Bank Parklands since 1997.
Mr Arthur Liu, President of the BLIAQ wishes to thank the 1,000 volunteers who have been working hard in preparing for the 2021 Buddha Birth Day Festival: “We welcome everyone to join our celebrations of Buddha’s birthday and as this is a wonderful family friendly festival, you will find a wide range of events and activities for both young and old to enjoy.”
