Whiskey’s Wish Inc. was founded in November 2014, following the death of President Scott’s much loved Assistance Dog Whiskey who passed away on the 7th of October 2014 from inoperable cancer.

Whiskey’s Wish Inc. was created in loving memory of this wonderful dog who saved a soldiers’ life and has grown from there.

Scott is a veteran who sustained injuries from his deployment to Afghanistan and who also suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from his service. Whiskey, a beautiful “big blue” heeler enabled Scott to become independent and to shake the many addictions associated with mental health disorders from service.

After Whiskey’s passing, there was no support offered and so with his family, Scott started Whiskey’s Wish Inc. to ensure that others who wanted to have support, training and advocacy associated with the wonderful rehabilitation that Service Dogs provide.

Whiskeys Wish Inc. now has over 130 dogs in the program Australia wide. As part of their Mission and Constitution, the Service Dog Program is at no cost to entitled recipients who are veterans from all Tri-services, First Responders (SES, Police, Fire Fighters, Paramedics) and Correctional Officers suffering from PTSD and/or service-related injuries.

All training costs, equipment, assessments, and certification are at no cost and in addition and most importantly, advocacy and support are provided.

Aussie Pet Collective at 3377 Pacific Highway Slacks Creek will be holding an event on Saturday 24th April for ANZAC Day and to help raise funds for Whiskey’s Wish. Raffle ticket sales from the month will also go towards Whiskey’s.
