Starting today, Logan City Council have reduced the speed limit in a busy section of roadways with the aim of safer roads.
To enhance road safety for drivers, pedestrians and people riding bikes, speed limits are being reduced to 40km/h in the Logan Central business precinct near Woodridge Rail Station, commencing October 2022.
The new 40km/h speed limit zone will include Railway Parade (Wembley Road to Stubbs Road), Station Road (North Road to Wembley Road), Blackwood Road, Croydon Road and Carmody Street.
This rail station precinct is a busy and vibrant area with high volumes of local community and visitor traffic. Unfortunately, there is an unacceptably high risk of road trauma. It’s a fact, lower speeds mean fewer crashes and less severe injuries when road crashes do happen.
