The new and improved Logan Village Skate Park at the Village Green will officially open on Saturday 26th November between 4pm and 7pm.

Community feedback from locals and residents was heard by Logan City Council and the new park includes lighting to allow the Logan Village Green facility to be used at night, new shade structures and the planting of more trees.

New footpath access points have been designed to minimise accident risk between skaters and pedestrians with all this work having started in early July.

Previous works at the Village Green include an adventure playground, enhanced heritage precinct, upgraded events space and new RSL cenotaph.

“We’ve got an action-packed afternoon planned for Saturday 26th November, loaded with activities for the kids including, skate workshops, skate, scooter and BMX rider demonstrations, and Lions Club sausage sizzle”, said Cr Laurie Koranski.

“Plus, local gold medalist Logan Martin will be joining us for the formal ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Bring the whole family down to enjoy a picnic on the Village Green and check out the fantastic new facilities”.

The Logan Village Green drainage upgrade project has been delivered using joint funding from the Australian Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Funding and Logan City Council’s Local Infrastructure Program.

“But you don’t have to wait that long to enjoy the new facilities. I’m please to advise that, weather permitting, the skate park will be completed and open for the community to use by the end of the week,” said Cr Koranski.
