If you are anything like me you are sick to death hearing about COVID-19 and what you can and can’t do.

It would be nice to just hide and enjoy a meal with a great cup of coffee and listen to nature. Luckily I have found that place, Brookhaven Bean Café. If you have never heard of it don’t worry as neither had it but I’m glad I found it.

Brookhaven Bean Café is located in the Brookhaven Estate, 33 Menora Road Bahrs Scrub. It’s in the same building as the Brookhaven Estate sales centre and very easy to find. Once you’ve found the sales office just follow the signs to the café.

When I walked down the side of the building to the café, I was very pleasantly surprise. The only sound I could hear was the birds and of course the coffee machine, a sound and noise that I love with that smell of fresh coffee being made.

The café itself is small and mostly open with a couple of different levels. It overlooks a lovely garden plus a large open grass area where you can take a blanket or picnic chairs to enjoy your coffee while watching the children play. That it, you can take the children and still enjoy yourself as there is a lot of space for them to run around and explore with a bike track and playground nearby.

So what can you get at Brookhaven café? The menu is just enough to not overwhelm you with selections but still hard to choose with so many yummy options. Sweet or savoury and with great Di Bella coffee made just the way you like it which for me is extra hot.

While you are there have a chat with Gloria who opened this café two years ago. She also makes and bakes most of the items on the menu so you know everything is new and fresh. Gloria has had years of experience inhospitably having owned a café in Brisbane for 10 years before coming out to Brookhaven for a more peaceful life. Not only does she have this great café but she lives within walking distance so is very much a local.

Why not do as the locals do and jump onto their Facebook page and check out the specials and give yourself a little time out.
