I was sitting in the Waterford Coffee Pot Cafe trying to work out how long it’s been on since I was in this café; I know it’s been at least 20 years but I’m sure it’s been longer. It was a great café back then even though all those years ago there were very few cafe’s anywhere and no real competition.
Located on Loganlea road just down from the Waterford Hotel, the café shares the centre with other businesses. I got to know the café back when bringing my parents to the doctor that occupied the office space next door. My folks would always have a feed and a pot of tea. After a few years I stopped going to the Coffee Pot Café and have driven or ridden past it all this time always intending to revisit, but like a lot of things in life I just put it off.
I decided to visit and actually started writing this article while in the café and I am more than happy to have finally called in.
First impression was how clean and pleasant the café looked and then made to feel very welcome by the staff.
I decided on coffee and Eggs Benedict which I didn’t have to wait long for.
While having my breakfast Pearl, the owner, has run the café for the past 8 years and doesn’t mind a chat. If you go to the Waterford Coffee Pot make sure you get to meet Pearl as she is a very nice and interesting lady.
I truly enjoyed both my coffee and the Eggs Benedict and decided the coffee was so good I had another. I’m keen to return and try more from the menu.
During my chat with Pearl I discovered that she is very involved in the local community and part of what she does is allowing students from the local school to do work experience. This has helped many to decide on career paths and experience what it’s like to deal with the public; not enough businesses do this these days.
If you find yourself in the area be sure and drop in and see for yourself just how good this café is and how nice Pearl and her staff are.
You can find this wonderful café at shop 8, 22 Loganlea Road Waterford West.
