A Beenleigh woman has had to stop her winning phone call from The Lott to take a moment and process her life-changing $20,000 every month for the next 20 years.
The Logan resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 2880, drawn Sunday 25 June 2023.
She takes home a total division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
“You’re kidding! I don’t believe it!” she laughed when we revealed her newfound fortune.
“I’m in shock. I’ve been waiting for so long to win something like this.
“I can’t believe that it’s finally happened. It hasn’t sunk in.
“I was going back and forth wondering if I should change my lottery numbers on my Set for Life ticket. I’m glad I kept persisting. They’re now my favourite numbers.
“I’ve been playing for years and years.
“I think I need to take a moment and call you back!”
The winning woman took a moment to check if the winning news was real and called her daughter immediately to alert her of the exciting news.
“I just told my daughter and she’s over the moon,” she shared.
“Her exact words were, ‘It couldn’t have gone to a better person. You always worry about others but yourself, mum!’.
“I will definitely be sharing the win with my children and grandchildren.
“We might even go on a holiday to New Zealand!”
Her winning entry was purchased at Nextra Hyperdome News in Loganholme.
Nextra Hyperdome News manager Karen Connell told The Lott it was an awesome feeling knowing her store has sold a division one winning entry to a local customer.
“We’ll be sharing our excitement with our customers and letting them all know that we’ve sold a division one winning entry,” she exclaimed.
“Our customers will be thrilled – they’ll be excited to know they’re buying from a store that has sold a winning ticket that scored big.”
