Some more major road works will start in Crestmead on March first with a popular road being closed for around six weeks.

The roadworks in Crestmead continues with the upgrading of the Bumstead Road and Clarke Road intersection to have traffic lights installed.

To do these works the developer needs to close one end of Bumstead Road for six weeks from March first but it will end up safer and better for all who use it.

There are changed traffic conditions on Rai Drive, Green Road, Clarke Road as they move to the next stage of road works through those streets as well. They have opened the internal roads within the new industrial estate to make a one-way circuit through the area so there are less delays for motorists.

Councillor Jon Raven said if you’re unsure about how the changes will impact you please allow some extra travel time or take a different route.

“The shops on Julie Street are still open for business so please support local for these six weeks as they’ll have less passing traffic.”
