The three Logan Chambers of Commerce combined to put on the night of nights for businesses in the City of Logan with the 2019 Business Distinction Awards.

A sell out once again, the event at the Logan Entertainment Centre had business people, politicians and community organisations from all over the city in attendance.

With 15 categories open for nominations, businesses who were nominated submitted their applications as to why they should be the winners. With judges choosing three finalists and only one winner per category, it was a hard choice with more than double the entries from last year’s awards.

There were also five major awards including Business of the Year and it was hoped throughout the crowd that new winners would come shining through, although all winners deserved their places.

Last year’s winners of the major award of New & Emerging Business, Jason and Natasha from Bee All Natural, were again winners in the Manufacturing and Construction category and also the major award of Sustainability & Environmental Contribution.

The world famous Simply Beans team of Deborah and Giuseppe Anapo and their crew took home the award in the Retail category. A well-deserved win over the competition as the team are well trained, friendly and offer a product that is of extreme quality.

For the Weddings, Functions and Events category it was The Whitehouse of Waterford who took the top place. A venue that is hard to overlook when it comes to tranquillity and quality for any function.

2019 Business of the Year is never an easy choice for the judges and this year was no exception. With so many wonderful and deserving businesses, there could only be one.

The winner provides the link between local residents and local jobs and aims to facilitate better connections between employers, employees and residents, and in so doing provide greater visibility of local job opportunities for local people.

The Yarrabilba Jobs Exchange – Access Community Services was this year’s Business of the Year and with a team working hard every day to help find employment for locals, it is no wonder they took out the top spot.

Logan Chamber of Commerce secretary Stewart Fleming said after two amazing years, the Logan Business Distinction Awards has re-asserted itself as the night of nights for Logan business.

“This year, 350 local business leaders made the red carpet look like the Oscars, with locally brewed beer, wine and a family-based string quartet setting the mood.

“The winners took home trophies, certificates, prizes and the knowledge that they have excelled in a highly contested event. All businesses that entered have used the process to focus their business efforts the Logan Chambers of Commerce will be encouraging even more businesses to enter next year.

“Entries for the 2020 Logan Business Distinction Awards will open next year. Join the Chamber’s newsletter to stay informed on all matters relating to Logan Business.”

With winners scattered all over the city, the competition seems to be getting hotter and hotter each year.

With the 2019 event is already under construction, the 2020 event is set to be the biggest yet and will be a hard fight to be number one in business in the City of Logan.
