Clean Up Australia Day comes once a year and volunteers across Logan City were out picking up the trash to help keep the city clean.

With events right across the city, there was a place for all to go and give some time with many having a BBQ after the clean-up.

Cr Karen Murphy from Logan City Council was down at the Eagleby Wetlands where she was joined by volunteers.

“This morning was excellent and there wasn’t that much rubbish out there which is awesome and means people have been doing the right thing and putting their rubbish in the bin.

“Thank you to those that came down, thank you to Allan Hoffman and the Bushcare crew that set this up today and thanks to Bert for coming down as well.”

While some areas didn’t attract large numbers of volunteers, the people who turned up did a lot of hard work to beautify the area.

Bert van Manan MP said thank you to Karen for setting the whole thing up.

“To Allan and the whole team here you do a fantastic job,” said Mr van Manen.
