Some of the medial benefits include encourages use of all motor skills, improves endurance and strength, reduces stress levels and promotes relaxation, improves wellbeing as a result of social interaction, and helps prevent diseases like osteoporosis.

There are community gardens at Beenleigh, Crestmead, Eagleby, Woodridge, Loganholme, Loganlea, Jimboomba, Slacks Creek, Springwood, and Yarrabilba.
