Tygum Park is what we are discovering in Logan this month.
Located in Waterford West, Tygum Park has lots of different activities for the whole family. The park has a basketball court, skate facilities, swings and climbing toys for the kids and a fishing pontoon.
There are also electric BBQ facilities and plenty of picnic areas where you can look out over the lagoon while relaxing and enjoying a nice sunny day.
This park is also very friendly to those that require wheelchairs and has toilets available with wheelchair access also. For those of that are keen fitness gurus, there is fitness equipment there to use around the park.
Another great thing about this park is the fact that you can just stroll all around the lagoon as it is very flat and suitable for everyone. The pathways are a great option to scoot or ride or casually stroll taking in all the wildlife as you walk around the lagoon.
There are so many different varieties of birds and wildlife, great for photo opportunities at every turn. This park is so full of great fun playgrounds the kids will be budding to get there over school holidays.
Tygum Park lagoon is also the home to Logan City Marine Modellers who are a remote-control boat club. They regularly open on Wednesdays and Sunday mornings from 7am to 12 noon and speed boats at 10am every first and third Saturday of the month. In the afternoons, from 12 to 4pm, the sailboats are out and racing.
Pack the snags and grab a fresh loaf of bread for a sausage sizzle and bring a rug or chairs and watch the boat club while enjoying your snags in the park on a lovely sunny day.
