The 2024 Local Government Elections may be a fair way off being officially finalised, however there are divisions that will see incumbents returned.

With almost 70 per cent of the votes counted in division two, the people have voted for Cr Teresa Lane to return to her position she first won in 2020.

Over 60 per cent of voters have see the work done in the division by Cr Lane and want to see more of the same over the next four years.

“Teresa is lovely and has been one councillor who has helped me when I asked,” said one voter.

“I can call her when I want to ask something and I can actually speak with her, it is great having someone in that position so contactable.”

Despite a small group of residents, some not even in the division, circulating a letter with false and misleading information, and two candidates, one running his campaign for the division for the second time, residents showed they trust Cr Lane to get the job done.

“With most of the vote counted, I can safely say it’s a privilege to be your Division 2 Councillor for four more years,” Cr Lane said on her Facebook page.

“We have a huge task ahead but together we can do anything, and I thank those who supported me with their number 1 vote in the election.

“Big shout out to the team that supported me on polling booths, two weeks of early voting, walking in flyers, weekend markets, sign waving, food prep and delivery – you guys rock.”
