The revitalised Eagleby Aquatic Centre 25-metre outdoor beach-entry leisure pool is now open.
The pool and surrounds have been refurbished with new shade sails, shelters, and seating as part of an overarching concept plan for the Bishop Street Park Precinct.
Mayor Darren Power said residents would reap the rewards of Council’s investment in aquatics facilities.
“Our pools and water play areas are more than just a place to cool off or exercise, Cr Power said.
“They also provide social connection that boosts the appeal and liveability of our city.
Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy said locals would welcome the re-opening of the Eagleby facility.
“Having a local swimming pool is important to the Eagleby community and I am sure the re-opened beach-entry pool and refreshed amenities will be popular these coming school holidays, Cr Murphy said.
“We had a fantastic turnout to the Eagleby Pool opening. We even had to put on extra staff to accommodate all the families and patrons.
“We’re now focusing on the Eagleby Pool Party this Saturday 9th of December with free entry and fun activities from 10am to 4pm.
