Scouts groups focus on the development and wellbeing of children using the scouting method which is education for life. It fills the gap left by the school system and develops self-knowledge, the need to explore, to discover and to want to know more.

Scouts discover a world beyond the classroom, learn by doing and are encouraged to pass that knowledge onto others. Through this process scouting aims to develop a child’s socially, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and physically.

This Saturday, Jimboomba Scout Group are holding their open day where they will show what children can expect when they join. It also gives parents a chance to speak to leaders and see how good the experience would be for their children.

The open day will include displays, camp oven scones with cream and jam for sale and coffee and slushies for sale. An obstacle course and tug of war will also be ready to go.

Leaders will be on hand to answer any questions about Jimboomba Scouts and about Scouting in general.
