It’s starting to look like Christmas almost everywhere you go around the City of Logan. The council has installed trees and street decorations at 12 locations across the city to spread Christmas cheer.
Acting Mayor Cherie Dalley said each division has been adorned with banners and bunting, contributing to the joy and goodwill the holiday season brings.
“Christmas is, as they say, the most wonderful time of the year and Logan is certainly looking fit for the celebrations,� Cr Dalley said.
“We’ve made sure that no Division in the city misses out on Christmas cheer – we’ve even decked out some roundabouts.�
Many Logan residents have also gone to great lengths to make their homes spectacularly adorned for the festive season.
One Edens Landing resident, Joel Herse, can claim to have gone further than most this year, winning the annual 4KQ’s Best Christmas Lights award.
His ‘Santa’s Magical Wonderland’ at Castile Crescent has become a temporary tourist attraction since it was switched on earlier this month.
Other Logan winners include Ellison Specialised Properties at Henry Street, Loganholme, who won the Best Big Business display and Grubless Cleaning and Property Services in Archery Street at Forestdale, who won for the best Small Business display.
‘Mount Warren Wonderland’ in Lane Court at Mount Warren Park impressed the 4KQ judges enough to be runner-up in the Best Synchronised display category while Lee and Rob Ferguson’s home in Lehmans Road in Beenleigh was highly commended by the judges.
