The City of Logan is again looking for our next leading senior citizen.
The Logan City Council Senior Ambassador award gives the winner recognition for their service to the community and the opportunity to inspire others to make Logan an even better place to live.
Last year’s winner, Red Cross Australia Blood Service volunteer and adult literacy advocate George Skurka, said the city is home to many outstanding senior leaders.
“The award was not just a great personal honour but it also highlighted the good work of the charities that I volunteer for,” Mr Skurka said.

“I’d encourage anyone who knows someone who is making a difference in our community to nominate them.”
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, August 20 at the Logan Loves Seniors event at the Logan Entertainment Centre.
Logan Loves Seniors promotes positive attitudes towards older people and highlights the many local activities and services available to senior citizens.
This year’s event will have more than 40 exhibitors, a concert by ‘The Carpenters from Kempsey’ and a number of free workshops.
The Carpenters From Kempsey – Darren and Sharon Carpenter – have taken their tribute act around the world and will deliver all the classics when they take the stage including Yesterday Once More, A Kind Of Hush, Rainy Days and Mondays, Calling Occupants, Ticket To Ride and Close To You.
