Police have charged a man after locating a significant quantity of dangerous drugs, cash, and a firearm during a search warrant.

At approximately 9am on Thursday, July 28, officers from Jimboomba Police Station executed a search warrant at a New Beith address.

During the search, officers allegedly located approximately 40kg of cannabis in vacuum sealed bags with a possible street value of around $400,000, approximately $7,000 cash, assorted drug utensils and an unregistered firearm along with an amount of ammunition.

Officers from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch attended the address and declared a crime scene.

A 29-year-old New Beith man was arrested and has been charged with one count of possess dangerous drugs, possessing utensils, possessing property suspected of being proceeds of drug offence, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He is scheduled to reappear at the Beaudesert Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 2.
