The predicted threat of rain for today, 26 January, and Saturday might not be completely accurate, it hasn’t stopped the Rotary Club of Beenleigh from getting their sandbagging machine out and operating.

With the help of Smart Stone Landscape Supplies – Mountt Warren Park, and a bunch of volunteers, sandbags were filled yesterday.

“I know many are concerned about the cyclone and how it could affect our community, so in preparation and out of abundance of caution, we have worked to prepare some sandbags,” said Cr Karen Murphy.

“I helped to fill them up using our brand spanking new sandbagger machine.

“There’s 100 made up at the Showgrounds and Logan City Council has also dumped a load of sand and bags. Please enter the Showgrounds via James Street entrance and follow the signs.
