With the cost of living continuing to climb, one local councillor has asked the question to residents about reducing the cost of Logan pool entries.

Cr Jacob Heremaia has created a non-council ‘Have Your Say’ on his Facebook page asking residents in his division, and across the City of Logan, if pool entry prices should be reduced from $5.50 to $2 for the summer.

“This could attract more families and kids to our local pools,” said Cr Heremaia.

“They could cool off and have fun, especially during those scorching hot days and school holidays.”

Many of the comments on the question agree that the price should be lowered however there are a few people saying it should be free.

Rachel Sweetie commented: “Yes. More people will come. More canteen items bought. More money made for the owner. Less money spent for the family/individual!!”

Glenys Nobbs commented: “Yes as it would be more affordable for families.”

Luke Taylor commented: “They aren’t council pools, the people paid for them, the council merely manage them for us.”
