Situated in the Slacks Creek industrial estate, 2/2 Herbert St, is a relatively new café and burger joint, JimmyMax Café.

Opening from 6am Monday to Friday, the café is busy in the mornings helping their customers turn from zombies to productive workers with their own special coffee blends.

They also have a hotbox full of wonderfully tasty fried foods that always help bring a morning to life. But if you come in later in the day, the hotbox is still ready for you.

However, if you are looking to fill the hole in your tummy with something a little tastier than hotbox grub, there is a range of burgers and breakfast muffins on the menu.

Before we dive into the burgers, we’ll look at the breakfast feed. Jimmy’s Brekkie is your traditional big breakfast with eggs, bacon, beans, toast and more. No time to sit down, then hit up Jimmy’s muffins. Egg, meat patty and cheese or bacon, egg, and cheese with both being perfect for eating on the run.

Like all their menu items, the burgers are made to order and there is one to suit any time of the day and for the largest of hungers.

The Calm Before the Storm burger is one of their biggest on the menu. It has two beef patties, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, pineapple, bacon, egg, and alfalfa. This is a real filling burger that hits all the right spots.

You can add some chips and a drink to make a meal from it but there will be some chips left over as it takes two hands to handle this storm.

The Real Steak Burger is another one of Jimmy’s that is packed bun to bun. Black Angus rib fillet, onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, pineapple, beetroot, and alfalfa.

For the chicken lovers there are a few options that are far from fowl. Fried chicken, shredded chicken, and plenty of packed on salads.
