A teenage boy remains in a critical condition following an e-scooter crash at Yarrabilba this morning.

Around 8.35am the 15-year-old local boy was riding the e-scooter south on the footpath along Basalt Drive, Yarrabilba when he has come off and struck his head.

Paramedics, including critical care and the High Acuity Response Unit, quickly rushed to the scene.

He sustained critical injuries at the scene, with bystanders providing first aid, including CPR ahead of the emergency response and transportation to hospital.

The male teen was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition with head injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the collision, which involved no other person or motor vehicle, and are urging witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, especially those with dashcam vision to come forward.
