City of Logan residents are being kept at the forefront of development news across the city thanks to an online service that has proved to be an instant hit.

Logan City Council’s online Development Enquiry Tool was launched in July, joining other features within the Logan PD Hub.

The new tool provides access to all planning, building and plumbing applications lodged with Council.

Search features allow customers to discover what’s happening in a particular street or suburb with emailed notifications available.

There is also easy access to development application plans and approval documents, along with planning scheme information and as-constructed plans for properties.

Interactive mapping and dashboards present the type and location of approvals in the city over the last five years.

Logan City Council Mayor Darren Power said the new Development Enquiry Tool enhances Council’s customer service.

“It puts development information at the community’s fingertips and increases transparency about development in our city,” Cr Power said.

“It is a great addition to Council’s popular PD Hub which provides all the necessary planning and development tools in one easy-to-use platform.

“Council thanks the State Government for providing the innovation funds ($50,000) and giving us the opportunity to improve the services we offer our community.”

Queensland Treasurer, Planning Minister and Member for Woodridge Cameron Dick said the Innovation and Improvement Fund has helped councils across the state improve their planning systems.

“Efficient and improved planning systems to enable appropriate development will be even more vital as we move forward with our economic recovery,” Mr Dick said.

“We know there will be tough times ahead for the Queensland economy, and that’s why we are delivering a comprehensive economic recovery plan that focuses on creating jobs and getting Queenslanders back to work.”
