Salt & Soul is a cafe but it is so much more than just a cafe. I was introduced to Salt & Soul by a good friend and went there to explore and learn more about their salt caves and find out just what they had to offer. If you were to go there only to have coffee and a cake then I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
The cafe offers a full coffee shop menu, coffee, tea, latte, milkshakes and much more. They have an excellent selection of Byron Bay Cookies, Grannies Home Made Fudge and a locally baked muffin selection.
On my visit and after a session in one of the amazing salt caves, which I found very relaxing and beneficial and would recommend to everyone to try at least once, I had great hot coffee and an absolutely beautiful muffin. I will be going back again but not just for coffee as I felt so good after the salt cave session I can’t wait to do it again and may make it a regular thing.
When I say Salt and Soul are far more than just a cafe, they have a lot to offer. Salt caves, massage therapists, a naturopath, Reiki , Chakra balancing, an astrologer, psychic tarot card reading, a great selection of candles, soaps, bath and body products, crystals and jewellery and a wonderful selection of salt lamps.
For those that have not heard of a salt cave, the salt cave is made completely of salt, as the name suggests. Salt is affixed to the walls and loose salt lines the floor. You can relax in comfortable chairs during the 45 minute sessions.
The halo generator grinds salt into fine particles which are sent into the Salt Cave and absorbed through the skin or inhaled during regular breathing. During a Salt Cave session, the bright lights are dimmed and Himalayan Salt lamps glow, giving the cave a beautiful relaxing ambient glow.
The sound of the waves reaching the beach adds that extra relaxing experience. Sessions are held every hour on the hour from 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Friday and 9am to 2pm Saturdays with session lasting 45 minutes.
The benefits are many and varied and aid and assist suffers of many conditions including but not limited to:
- Asthma
- Eczema
- COPD
- Sinus
- Psoriasis
- Cold & Flu
- Anxiety
The services offered other than the cafe by Salt & Soul my not be for everyone but if it’s just coffee and a cake you are after you can enjoy it looking out over a beautiful relaxing tropical landscape and watch the ducks on the water.
