Chery Motor, China’s biggest exporter of automotive vehicles, has officially launched in Australia with its stylish and feature-packed SUV, the OMODA 5.
The OMODA 5 is available for test drive, purchase, and delivery at any of Chery’s dealerships nationwide with dealers in all states and territories.
Chery plans to further expand this network in the coming months in preparation for further models landing down under, with the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro SUVs penned for the end of this year.
“The feedback we’ve been getting from our national dealer network is that they are extremely excited – as we are – about the OMODA 5,” said Roy Munoz, Director Network Development, Chery Australia.
“They love the built in level of safety, technology and design, with features that dealers are used to seeing in cars that cost two to three times the price.”
Chery has always focused on developing both domestic and international markets. After more than 20 years of development, Chery’s sales and services network now covers more than eighty countries and regions.
The right-hand drive market is paramount for Chery’s global expansion and Australia will be a key market for this growth, additionally meeting the needs of customers in different regions around the world.
“With over 20 years of experience, in over 80 markets worldwide, Chery is proud to have more than 11.2 million customers globally,” said Andrew Haurissa, Brand Manager, Chery Australia.
“We’re excited to launch the Omoda 5 down under and we look forward to adding more Australians to the growing Chery community.”
With drive away prices starting from $31,990 for the BX model and $35,190 for the EX, the OMODA 5 is an impressive vehicle that has the ability to perform. With its innovative design, the OMODA 5 is jam-packed with premium features and technology; the base model BX comes equipped with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, remote engine start and keyless entry. Standard throughout the range are synthetic leather seats, climate control and a noise-reduction windshield with silent wipers.
The EX version then builds on this extensive features list with “OMODA” puddle lighting, ambient interior lighting in the second row, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. A power-adjust passenger seat, a powered boot and a powered sunroof complete a generous equipment list.

Every new Chery, led by the OMODA 5, will arrive in Australia with a seven-year warranty, seven years of roadside assistance and capped-price servicing across the range.
