Nissan introduced the N-TREK Special Edition in February this year and is a mix of powerful style with practical family convenience.
The seven-seat Pathfinder N-TREK Special Edition pays homage to the long tradition of comfort, quality and off-road ability for which the model has always been associated. The N-TREK Special Edition is powered by the steadfast 202kW, 340Nm 3.5-litre V6 engine available across the Pathfinder’s family.
There are four variants of the Pathfinder N-TREK Special Edition available; 2WD versions of the ST+ and ST-L models, and 4WD versions of the ST+ and ST-L models.
The Pathfinder is equipped with a host of Nissan’s advanced Intelligent Mobility features as standard, including Intelligent Emergency Braking with Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Intelligent Cruise Control. Early in 2019, Rear Door Alert, which notifies parents if children are left unattended in the vehicle was added to the Ti variant.
There are eye-catching black styling accents, a unique 18-inch alloy wheel design and wider tyres, the Pathfinder N-TREK Special Edition will appeal to traditional 4WD-loving customers who seek a higher degree of individuality and expression.
The interior is modern and offers darker colours of black and grey. There is plenty of flexibility in both carrying passengers and providing storage options; the second row of seats is split 60/40 and the third row 50/50 in all grades of the Pathfinder.

When both rows are folded to flat, the Pathfinder offers a massive 2,260 litres of cargo space. There are also ten cup holders, six bottle holders, four 12v power outlets and an under-floor storage compartment behind the third row of seats as standard.
Exterior feature upgrades include a Black V-motion front grille, with black finisher strip and silver lower bumper guard. At the rear there are black badges, black license plate trim and black lower bumper finisher.
Along the side of the vehicle there are black fender flares, black exterior door handles, black roof rails, and black door mirror caps.
Nissan say that the Pathfinder N-TREK Special Edition is designed to appeal to active outdoor lifestyle families who appreciate the standout features included in the N-TREK specification. And while that statement is true, the N-TREK really doesn’t offer the best off-road performance due to how low the front spoiler is.
On the road the Pathfinder is really nice and easy to drive. While it is large, the steering is nice and light yet direct, the ride is smooth yet corners strongly and the overall feel is not that of a seven seater SUV and something that can be enjoyed every day.
Pathfinder N-TREK Special Edition Pricing starts at $46,840 and goes to $60,640 plus on-roads.
