Last month I found myself in Bethania. This is a suburb I would not normally visit as I don’t know anyone in this area, but I was meeting my son at the community centre for a catch up.

As I drove to the centre I noticed a coffee shop just up the road so of course I needed to check it out.

That coffee shop is of course CG’s Coffee & Grub. It’s situated in the small shopping strip on Station Road, not far from the railway station and community centre.

Walking in we were greeted with a welcoming smile from all staff and felt very comfortable. When looking over the menu I found it very good plus they have daily specials and prices to suit everyone’s budget.

As you all know I love my eggs benny and a hot coffee so of course that’s what I ordered. My son decided on a chicken burger that came with chips and also got a thick shake to go with his meal.

We had a lovely surprise with our drinks, my coffee was lovely and hot (very happy) the thick shake was in the old fashion container. Nostalgia is always a good thing. Our food arrived in record time, nice, hot and very filling, yes it tasted great as well.

I don’t know how long GC’s Coffee & Grub has been in Bethania, but the present owners have run it for nearly six years. It was obvious to see that the café is a very local meeting place. Customers were coming in getting take away, or just popping in to say hi. Bethania is a quite suburb with some surprises like a great community centre, swimming pool and retirement villages.

GC’s Coffee & Grub have a Facebook page with all the information about their menu and opening hours. Take the detour to Station Road, or get off the train at Bethania station and check them out; you won’t regret it.
