Finding a great fish and chip shop can be a hard thing to do. With so many across the city, the decision where to spend your hard-earned cash for the best can be difficult.
If you are in the Woodridge area you are very lucky as one of the best places to get fish, chips, burgers, and more is at Costa’s Take-Away at the Smith Road Shopping Village.
A very friendly staff is the first thing that you will notice when you enter the shop. The next are all the specials plastered on the walls, giving plenty of options for lunch or dinner.
While this take-away doesn’t have all the bells and whistles when it comes to seafood, it has the important parts. Different types of fish, your typical deep-fried snacks and of course a range of burgers.
Prior to moving to a different part of Logan, we lived down the road from this shop and it was a real shame to leave, mostly because we haven’t found better, or even equal to the quality of the food.
Starting with the chips there is a decent amount of them for the money and they are cook perfect each time. Crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They also don’t skimp on the chicken sault.
The fish has flavour. Doesn’t matter what type you get or how it is cooked, it is tasty. Decent size pieces, not dripping in grease and if battered, it is light and crunchy.
The burgers look may not be award winning, however they have plenty on them, the works burger is the best, and the flavour is so much better than you will find at many burger joints. They are juicy, flavoursome and no matter what bite you are up to, you will be whishing there was a lot more of it because it is that good.
No matter what we order, our family always gets potato scallops, and some places just don’t know how to get them right. Well, that is not an issue here as they are crunchy and clean tasting and with the salt on them, they are to die for.
Do yourself a favour and stop at Costa’s Take-Away on Smith Road and get a feed. Take it home, to a park or eat it in your car. You will not be disappointed you made the drive.
