It’s hard to imagine it’s September already. I can’t believe the year is into its 9th month and we still have COVID, lockdowns, and having to masks. I hate masks but happy to be here in Logan and not further south.
All of this has made it difficult to get out and about and to visit the amazing cafés and restaurants in our great City of Logan. I have really missed you all over the past couple of months and it is a pleasure to be back and welcome back to our readers.
This month I would like to tell you all about a place my family took me took for my birthday. I have always wanted to visit and eat something from their tasty menu because just the look of the building and grounds are inviting.
I know that many of you will have heard of The Whitehouse of Waterford, but until you go there you really don’t know what you are missing. I haven’t been to a restaurant like this for a very long time, so it was wonderful to be experiencing this.
From the moment you walk in you’re a made to feel welcome by the staff and they are all just wonderful. When you do get inside, décor and layout is ever so inviting as the building itself.
The menu was a lovely surprise and has something for everyone, from A La Cart, Chefs set menus (which is a two or three course meal), shared platters and even high tea. All at very reasonable prices for the experience you receive.
My family and I decided on the chefs set three course menu which had a choice of four different entrées, mains, and desserts.
I had the mini cob loaf with bacon and cheese baked in with a main of forest mushroom and slowed cooked lamb pappardelle followed by a dessert of tiramisu. We also had a bottle of bubbly as it was my birthday.
Between my family members we selected various meals including salt and pepper calamari, slow cooked beef brisket and sticky date pudding. The service in ordering the meals and drinks was prompt and efficient.
The food was absolutely delicious, I loved every bite and was taking my time as I didn’t want it to be over. When I got to the tiramisu I was in heaven as it is the best I have ever tasted. My tiramisu arrived with a sparkler and the waitress’ sang happy birthday. It just topped off my day.
Each course was delivered to the table with good scheduling, giving us time to enjoy our drinks and chat. The meals were very filling; I really had trouble fitting in my dessert, but I did.
There is so much more to experience at The Whitehouse of Waterford and my wonderful time there was something I tell all my friends about. I will be back to try out the high tea and more of their fantastic menu.
If you are looking somewhere special to have a romantic meal or high tea or just to share a meal with a friend, The Whitehouse of Waterford is the place to try.
This is a venue not far from home and has plenty of parking and locals working hard to make your experience enjoyable.
